The town of Mont-Roig is an upwards extended one, just 10km from Cambrils and not far away from the beach as well.
La Mont Roig Playa is one terrific beach situated in the center of the Costa Dorada . The beach is a perfect, fun beach for families with kids, especially with its expansive, fine sand and shallow waters. An inviting option is Mont-Roig s long and lovely boardwalk, great for a stroll or for some dining and shopping.
The agricultural town of Mont-Roig is where the famous Catalonian painter Joan Miró hails from. He spent many of his childhood years here.
While in the area, drop by the church of St. Miguel. The construction of this impressive Gothic style church began in 1574. Mont-roig is also nearby to places like Riudecanyes (with the Riudecanyes swamp), and the Monastery of Escornalbou, another interesting route you may want to take.
