Golfers living outside of Spain know very little about the up-and-coming golf destination called Costa Dorada . It has all the important elements: four good courses with new ones following their trail, terrific weather all year-round, quality accommodations, and two historical major cities to boot.
Panoramica Golf Course
A well-designed and enjoyable course, Panoramica is the most southerly golf course in the region, situated between Barcelona and Valencia. Technically, Panoramica stands just beyond Catalonia, but the Catalans regard it as one of their own.
Designed by Bernhard Langer with much thought and strategy, the Panoramica is a quality golf course with excellent practice facilities. It is a long course, with four sets of forward tees, mostly on flat terrain with a little bit of roughness. Built on a lovely portion of olive grove landscape, the course provides for easy walking and pure golf enjoyment for all levels of ability. Be forewarned though, high handicaps need be attentive that it is in fact a championship course.
The clubhouse is first-rate, with a snack bar and restaurant. It s about a 45-minute drive from Cambrills, but if you are staying in the Costa Dorada specifically for a golf holiday, then we strongly recommend that you make the drive, as you will surely not regret it.

Bonmont Golf Course
Only 60 minutes south from Barcelona airport, Bonmont is up there among the best courses in Catalonia .
Built in 1990, Robert Trent Jones Jr. was the one who designed Bonmont Golf Course . With the high reputation of someone like him, one is assured that the design of the course is well-planned, and made for gaining worldwide acclaim. The likes of Robert Trent Jones Jr considers and understands the needs of the scratch golfer as well as the high-handicapper. He expertly is able to build a course that provides both challenge and enjoyment for players of all abilities. Strategic tee and pin placement offer both, in one fantastic golf design.
He makes maximum use of the natural landscape. The course has superb views over the Mediterranean, with the mountains as a dramatic background. To further enhance this, in place area 90 bunkers and a few well-placed testing water hazards, with a twisting ravine coming into play in several holes. The practice facilities at Bonmont are superb.
Bonmont hosted the 1991 and 1996 Catalan Open , won by no less than such famed golfers such as José Maria Olazabal and Paul Lawrie respectively.

Costa Dorada Golf Club Apartado de Correos 600 43080 Tarragona Tel: (977) 65 33 61 Fax: (977) 65 30 28
Built in 1983, this private members golf course was the first golf club in the Tarragona region. Covering some 136 acres, it has several narrow doglegs and hilltop tee shots that offer wonderful views over the course and the sea. A very pretty course it is, especially with the pine, willow, olive, and palm trees dotted all over. The course also offers variety and challenge. Interestingly, the 13th hole is one of the longest in Spain , measuring 637 yards from the back tees. The course is not as long as Bonmont or Panoramica so it s a bit easier for high handicaps.
The clubhouse is a beautiful converted Masia (farmhouse) where the interior design is typically Catalan and very swish. There s also an excellent restaurant to further enhance your already pleasant experience at Costa Dorada Golf Club. It is well recommended that you booking in advance during weekends.

Aiguesverdes Golf Course
Located near the town of Reus and a mere five minutes from Salou and Cambrills, this course lies in the bucolic side of the area. Aiguesverdes is a pleasant local golf course, characterized by olive and almond trees that line the fairways. It s an easy-walking course as the terrain is leveled.
This is a very extensive golf course measuring almost 7,000 yards. The forward tees make for a less intimidating experience for higher handicappers. The signature hole is the short Par 3 third -- inspired by the 17 th at Sawgrass, it has an island green completely bounded by water. The clubhouse is breathtakingly lovely, a renovated olden farmhouse with a splendid outdoor swimming pool.
