Just like the rest of Spain, Costa Dorada is full of traditions and town fiestas tourists would most likely be fascinated with. There are actually a fiesta celebrated every month, each with its own theme and purpose. So no matter what time of the year you visit Costa Dorada, there sure is a celebration you can go to.
During January, the Tres Toms is held. This is a traditional procession of carriages and horses held not only at Costa Dorada but with several other adjacent towns as well. This is celebrated around the feast of St. Anthony. The Festa de la Calcotada, on the other hand, is held on the same month. Roasted spring onions are eaten which is dipped in several tasty sauces. Another celebration, the 'Falset the Encamisada de Sant Antoni' is a commemoration of the hardships and difficulties suffered by the villagers during the War of Succession.
Come February, the 'Festes de la Candelera' is held. Processions are also done during the event. Most towns would have Carnivals during this month as well. The women's fiesta called the 'Riba-roja d'Ebre' is also done during February. Other fiestas like the 'El Vendrell the Children's Xantonaire Festival with xato' is also celebrated.
The thing observable during March is the cultural meetings with reference to religion are held within the region. These meetings are called aplecs. Also, the Diada de la truita amb suc in Uldemolins is a fiesta is done during March where in the food is a local spinach omelette.

Spain is a Catholic country, so during April, people hold Holy Week processions. Attendees of the procession usually sing the 'Caramelles' or the folk song of Resurrection. The 'Uldecona' is the actual portrayal of the Passion of Christ. Actors are hired to perform on stage for the audience. Along with that, they also act the Legend of St. George, but this is done during what they call the Montblanc Medieval Week. And when Easter arrives, tourist can expect Easter celebration with various chocolate cakes prepared.
In May, a remarkable tradition held is the 'Aplec de Sant Jeroni'. This is a dance performance recreated to reminisce the discovery of a sacred religious image. Usually, an altar piece is created in line with the celebration.
June is a joyous month. It is during this time that a lot of dancers, flowers, fireworks, bonfire, processions, and parties plague the streets. It is in June where visitors can enjoy the Torredembarra. Also, during the eve of St. John's Day, the night sky will look bright with a showcase of fireworks and bonfires.
July is children's month. This is the time where kids enjoy the Festa Popular. There are special performances made especially for the young. Dances, mythical animals, and different other presentations are held kids will truly like.
The region's major fiestas are held in August. It is during this time that the Ascension of the Madonna-Mystery of La Selva is commemorated. Street dancing, fireworks, and traditional folk dance is seen on the roads and pavements leading to the city proper. It is also during this time that the dog hunting competition is held.

September 11 is the declared National Day of Catalonia. To celebrate the foundation and independence of the region, several grape picking fiestas are held in and around the region. Locals will be seen dancing and singing while picking grapes. The rest of the procedure for wine-making is followed, but this time, it is done while wining and dining.
The Humans Towers and the Festa de l'aiguardent de Prat de Comte is held on October. In November, they have the All Souls Day where departed loved ones are remembered. November is also known as the month of roasted chestnuts.
As a Christian region, December is the time to commemorate Christ's birth into the world. Natvity scenes are reenacted and performed in the streets. Christmas is definitely celebrated along with the rest of the world. Performances are held to remember the story of the birth of Jesus.

Apart from the exquisite traditions and fiestas held, a lot of tourist spots are worth checking out in Costa Dorada. The place have big marinas and ports that can be visited. A total of 13 ports is present in the area. Marinas offer yachts and other facilities to guests. These are used as stop over points for cruise ships and boats. Fishermen also frequent the area with their vessels. The marinas in itself have a breathtaking view of the waters.
If there are good waters, for sure, water parks are present. Costa Dorada has its own share of breathtaking water and nature parks for tourists to enjoy.

January The Tres Tombs - a time-honored parade of horses and carriages held in many towns and villages around the time of St. Anthony's Day. Festa de la Cal - Held in Valls, this festivity is celebrated around eating roasted spring onions dipped in a scrumptious sauce.
February The Festes de la Candelera in Valls and Calafell. Most towns and villages observe the Carnival, but the more famed processions are those in El Vendrell and Reus. In El Vendrell, the Children's "Xatonaire" Festival features the xató (a traditional salad made with fish) made for everybody.
March In the religious hermitages around the area, many aplecs or meetings of cultural associations, are held. The Diada de la truita amb suc in Ulldemolins offers tourists the chance to taste their local, juicy and delectable spinach omelette.
April April is the month of palm markets and long-established Holy Week processions. The town of Ulldecona is recognized for its performance of The Passion. During Holy Week, caramelles, folk songs that honor the Resurrection, are sung in many towns. Cake shops are filled with Easter mones, chocolate creations of assorted sizes and shapes.
May Do not miss: the Aplec de Sant Jeroni in the town of Móra d'Ebre. A performance of the Dance of Sant Crist in Salomó, a recreation in the form of an altarpiece of the finding of the image.
June This is the month of "giant and midget" dances. The town of Torredembarra is known for its Corpus Christi celebrations where you can witness l'ou com balla (how the egg dances) at Tarragona Cathedral. The Festa dels Reguers ("irrigation festival") in Tortosa is also interesting. Then, on the eve of St. John's Day, an atmosphere of festivity is experienced, and bonfires and fireworks illuminate the skies of the Costa Daurada.
July Festes del pa bene (sacred bread) in the town of El Vendrell. The Festa Popular of Móra la Nova has shows for children, mythical animals, "fire-running" and dances. Sant Carles de la R has a Maritime Procession.
August The month of August is renowned for the many festes majors (main fiestas) that dominate its days. Open-air dances, fireworks and all kinds of folk dancing can be seen in most of the towns. A hunting-dog competition in Prades. A presentation of the Ascension of the Madonna-Mystery of La Selva (an anonymous artwork from the second half of the 16 th century) is held in La Selva del Camp. The big Sitges fiesta and firework display is held in August too.
September The Diada of September 11th is Catalonia's National Day. Various fiestas and grape-picking festivals are held around the region.
October In Valls, witness the Human Towers on St. Ursula's Day.
November This is the month of roast chestnuts and panellets (marzipan cakes). On All Souls Day the dead are remembered.
December December is the time for nativity scenes and eating wafers and turrons (wafer with nougats). Christmas and the Feast of the Three Kings are a time for family get-togethers, midnight mass and the exchange of gifts. Most towns and villages have performances of the story of the pastorets (shepherds) and some even have live nativity scenes. On the 31 st of December ,l'home dels nassos (the man with the noses) visits different towns in the region.
