The town of Sitges is just one of the resorts you can check out for some nighttime fun. Known as the wildest resort on the Catalan coast, it has long boasted a status for hot parties and unconventional behavior. Sitges became the hip and happening place back in the 1960s. Today, it draws in the party crowd from nearby Barcelona.
By day they shop in the town's fashionable boutiques but by night the streets thump to the sound of the latest electronic rhythms.
Sitges also stages the region's most ostentatious carnival, which culminates in a fabulous gay parade. A bit more sober is the International Theatre Festival held in June.
